Nice app. I've only used it briefly but immediately one feature that I think would help would be the ability to "Share to" this app. So then we could select a kanji on a Web page and in one step both open your app and lookup the word.

Great work though. The app looks beautiful and feels like it has a lot of functionality.

That sounds like a great idea! I'll add it to the list. At the moment, I'm taking a bit of a break from developing Akebi, but rest assured I'll make it happen sometime soon.

Hmm... Sorry about that! That's a feature definitely worth adding!

This app is amazing. It contains everything I need for learning written Japanese... Thank you so much you're seriously great and I don't know how I would have learned so much otherwise!

I'd like a Russian version of Akebi.

(Received on 2014-02-02 02:06:54)

Unfortunately, that's going to be basically impossible for me. Unless you're willing to donate $2000AUD I'd need to translate the software... Even then, I'd still need a Japanese->Russian dictionary data source... I have been thinking about extending the languages that Akebi supports, but for now, I really need to focus on the English features.

Update (10/12/2014) In the next version, Akebi should have basic Russian language support.

Your soft is great! As useful as the electronic japanese dictionary! What I use the most is the hand-drawn kanji search. Thanks.

You're very welcome! Thanks for thanking me, it means a lot to me :D!

Akebi Feedback #29

Hello again,

When doing flashcard tests on word lists from English to Japanese is there a way to make the English font smaller? it's huge and uses several lines for one word. like this:

grandf
ather

(on nexus 5 screen)

One last thing, is it possible to show the JLPT level of words as part of the definitions info? It helps to know if I should be focusing on it after I have looked up a word.

Great app! Looking forward to future releases. You should charge for this app I feel guilty using such a good app for free :o

I'll have a look at the flashcards problem you're experiencing. As for paying for Akebi: originally, I was going to charge for it. But after a few days of no users, I decided I just wanted to see people use it. So that's why I make it, no need to feel guilty! It was my choice!
