Making Kanji lists is quite a laborious process. I'd love the ability to long press any Kanji in the dictionary and be able to send to an active Kanji list, or any list of my choosing.

Hi, love the app. Please consider the following requests:
Ability to select words in other apps and "share" them to Akebi to look them up
Ability to share vocab items out of Akebi to other apps. We should be able to choose whether just the Kanji, or the Kanji with hiragana and translation get shared.
The ability to share entire vocab lists and Kanji lists to other apps. Personally I use Evernote as my study book.
The ability to pick Kanji in one list and send it to other lists. I'd like to be able to go through the JLPT lists and choose what Kanji to add to my own custom lists.
Great work so far. This is a good study app, and with the sharing ability requested above it would be a great dictionary.

Great app, but recently it's been crashing whenever I search in English. For example, just searching "English" causes the app to shut down. I conducted some tests and it seems that the app shuts down once the 6th character is entered e.g searching "engli" is fine but the minute you add S to make it "englis" the app crashes. This seems to occur regardless of capitalization.
One exception is "japanese", which works fine up until the s is entered...in other words, the 7th character. Not sure why this is. Also am not sure if it's a device specific problem or not. No problems so far with searching for Japanese words however. Great app overall, just found this interesting glitch. Please try and fix it. Thanks for developing this app!

Hi, it's me again from the having trouble searching problem. Further tests revealed the following: the 5 or 6 character limit is in place for Japanese as well. akirame searches but a ki ra me r does not. Secondly, uninstalling reinstalling does nothing. However...the problem is almost certainly due to lists. I currently have 246 terms in my one list. Deactivating the list or deleting it altogether (as with a reinstall before loading a backup) removes the problem altogether, allowing me to search such terms as English or akirameru. You can understand how being forced to deactivate a list for searches could be problematic. I'm not sure why the list length could cause crashes...but I'm sure you'll be able to investigate the code. Thanks!

I'm afraid I don't understand entirely what you mean by that, I'll just assume you mean that the handwriting recognition isn't very good. I'll try to take a bit of a look. Apologies for my late responce.

Hello,
It seems like the app can not recognize 子 and other kanjis with this radical. Look like it it expects 2 strokes but it is a 3-stroke kanji.

Hmm... You're right. I guess the data I'm using for the handwriting recognition is bad. I'll try to get that fixed (taking a break from Akebi dev. for a bit, could be a little while)

The kanji handwriting test is great! It's accuracy is very high. A suggestion would be to include templates for writing practise. Templates with dotted lines and numbers for the sequence of strokes. Enjoying the app!!
