Akebi Feedback #187

Isn't there a japanese text analyzer in app like in Imiwa? of IOS? I have recently moved to android and i am having hard times without enough features as of free software 'Imiwa'. I hope Akebi will add that soon. and its one of the best app i have discovered in android.

Hey there! This is a feature I've thought about for a while, but I've not yet got a request for it. It would not be super difficult to implement, however I'm not sure how it would effect dictionary size. I'll have to take a closer look. At the moment the priority is pushing out a new dictionary format with 8 new languages and tonnes of other stuff, and that is taking quite a long time as I am exceedingly busy. Thanks for writing in!

I love this application! Its the best dictionary along with the lists that you can create to review the word you have looked up. Keep up and thank you for this great dictionary!

Can't figure out how to share.
(Received on 2015-01-22 01:40:00)

Just click on a word and then press the triangle (the standard Android share icon) in the top left. Then there should be a bunch of options. Hope that helps!

Akebi Feedback #184

Please add a voice functionality that pronounces the words like Pleco for Chinese does!

Audio is a fairly low priority at the moment as there are many other features that need to be completed before I can start on that. But I will take your feedback into consideration, and thanks for writing in!

This is a cool app, but it lacks a "history" feature. I think you should add one.

Thanks for the suggestion. I would like to add a history feature, and I do intend to some time in the future.

Akebi Feedback #180

really nice application but I made one list that's suddenly gone???
(Received on 2015-01-07 14:14:04)

I'm really sorry to hear that, but I'm afraid there isn't a lot I can do! Please make sure you use the backup feature as much as you can!

Akebi Feedback #179

I want to put radicals together to find Kanji. Thanks.

(Received on 2015-01-06 02:19:38)

You can do this already! Just type a "?" in, and then click on it in the bar that appears under the search bar. Then you should see all the radicals available for selection to the right of the handwriting entry box.

Akebi Feedback #178

Hi Craxic, Faiz here. I've been using your app for a very long time and on a daily basis too. A great app, I must say. Anyway, I'm writing here to report a bug on text input. At least, I think it is a bug. I recently came across this word 近影. I already knew the kanji individually and how to read it. So I fire up Akebi to look up the meaning of that word. When I typed kinei in the search text box, きねい came up instead of きんえい. I then tried to type in kinnei because ん is usually typed as 'nn' in the Japanese IME. This instead produces きんねい. Thus I have no way of typing きんえい to get Akebi to show 近影 aside from using the unknown kanji method and specifying the radicals for each kanji to search for the word. I'm hoping my small feedback will contribute to making this great app even better. Thanks. Regards Faiz

Hi Faiz!

I'm glad to hear you use find my app useful and use it on a daily basis! I've seen this issue before, I'm afraid, but I haven't yet had time to fix it. I guess what it should be doing is something like this:

  • きんねい = ki nn ne i
  • きんえい = ki nn e i
  • きねい = ki ne i

Sorry about that! At the moment, I'm busily working on the new dictionary as much as I possibly can during the holidays I have, so hopefully once I get that done I can fix this annoying problem.

I hope that's OK, and thanks for writing your feedback so nicely! :P
