Akebi Feedback #227

Bug: the keyboard doesn't close automatically after searching a word. I have no way to make space for reading with closing the keyboard.

Akebi is actually designed to display a pop-up when there isn't enough room to show the definitions. Unfortunately, your keyboard is not causing Akebi to resize, and is instead appearing on top of things, obscuring the definitions. I'll try adding closing the keyboard after search as an option, I'll see how it goes.

Edit (July 16, 2015): I've decided to remove this as an option and include it by default, since it seems to be an obvious enhancement.

Absolutely love it! If there was one thing I'd love even more, it would be if the list testing included testing both reading, writing and translation - like with the long-term study list in zKanji, if you are familiar with it. But really, a superb dictionary that I am very happy I found. Excellent job!

Hmmm, not exactly sure what you mean? Do you just mean showing all information about each word one by one? I'm super busy at the moment, so I don't have time to investigate zKanji, sorry. Thanks for the positive feedback though!

my favorite companion app when learning Japanese with other tools. synonyms and antonyms would be AAAAWEEESOOOOMMME! (Text to speech would be cool too)!

Hey there! Working on this EXACT thing right now! Thanks! (Text to speech later though, maybe ;)

Akebi Feedback #224

Great job, very convenient. Even if i reinstalled akebi, i am not new to your soft. I am a bad handwriting people, so i had a question. Would it be possible to add a key of kanji in the handwrinting space and then write around to complete the kanji? I think the recognition would be easier as the possibilities are reduced. Anyway, thank you a lot for developping such a usefull soft!

Hey thanks for the great feedback! But I'm not sure what you mean by a "key"? Like displaying an overlay of the kanji that you're trying to draw? But obviously that's what we're trying to figure out?? Please let me know what you mean!

Akebi Feedback #223

Hello! First off I really like this app I have been using it for a few months now and its definitely my go to. Is there a way to search for specific tags like expressions?
(Received on 2015-06-01 17:09:26)

Hey there! Sorry, not at the moment. This is a feature I have planned for release in one or two release cycles. Thanks for writing in!

Akebi Feedback #222

your app is so great!! I can't imagine how much time and effort you have applied in order to make this app worked as amazing as I ever seen.. congrats!!! thanks .. I hope that someday you will also create an update for the japanese slang words .. it would be very great if you added some features like that ..
(Received on 2015-06-01 13:27:54)

Hey there. Hopefully Akebi already has at least some slang words. Perhaps the new update I'm working on at the moment (which upgrades the internal dictionary) will be able to help you. Sorry I can't get to it right now, thanks!

Akebi Feedback #221

I'd like a feature that asks you kanji for on'yomi kun'yomi and meaning
(Received on 2015-05-31 15:50:47)

Hey there, thanks for the feedback. At the moment, I'm really focusing on pushing out the next update which will add an additional 8 languages to Akebi. After that is done, I can investigate adding more features like this. At the moment, perhaps you could use the "send to list" option when you view a Kanji (Press the "..." option in a Kanji view area). Thanks!

Are conjugations still in the works? Thank you in advance and for a great app.
(Received on 2015-05-22 02:05:09)

Hey there! Yup, conjugations are still in the works. Although, they have a low priority at the moment. I'm in the middle of another large upgrade that should be coming out fairly soonish (maybe another month or two). Sorry about all the waiting, I'm very busy and have less time than I'd like to have to work on Akebi.

Akebi Feedback #219

Hi, I've been using this app for a few months now and overall it's pretty fantastic. In fact I probably use this more than Jisho from my pc even when looking up things while sitting at my computer. However, I'm wondering what the chances of any compatability with anki flashcards is. I do like the built in review systems you have but since I already use anki to study core decks the ability to add words directly to a wordmine deck in anki would be a godsend. At present that's really the only advantage jisho (in junction with rikaisama) has for me.
(Received on 2015-05-18 06:18:19)

Hey there! Anki integration is one of the most requested features. I will get around to working on it after the latest upgrade is released (the end is in sight finally!!, sorry for the long wait). Thanks for writing in!

Akebi Feedback #218

hello, I've been using your app for quite some time now and I love it. 一番の電子辞書になった!ありがとうございました。 it's complete and has all features needed. although there is one thing missing I think. it's a history of researched words. indeed I noticed I often come back to words I was looking for. Having a history and scrolling thru the list would be rather faster than re-typing... Anyways thank you very much for Akebi. keep up the good work.
(Received on 2015-05-16 11:06:48)

Hey there! History is a very highly requested feature and I hope to get around to adding it soon. Thanks for the motivation and the kind words, it really means a lot to me!
