Akebi Feedback #377

is there a look-up to confusable kanji in terms of shape meaning and pronunciation? Thanks
(Received on 2016-01-09 05:16:45)
I'm afraid that no such feature exists at the moment. Something to look at in the future though. Thanks!

Akebi Feedback #376

hello. I appreciate Akebi very much. Had it existed 20 years back my Japanese litany level would have been different. However, is there a easy way to make all grade 1 to 9 kanjis into flashcards and remove the ones that you knew.
(Received on 2016-01-09 04:59:33)
Hmmm not right now. I might look at adding that in the future though, just for you! Cheers.

Akebi Feedback #375

If I use the second bar and type anything with a capital letter it refuses to do anything. Got stuck in tutorial for a mins because of it. (Aida is not registered the same way as aida). Phones keyboards tend to auto cap the first letter in the beginning of any sentence. Ideally things aren't case sensitive, but if it's too much work to change then please add a note that it's case sensitive in tutorial so others don't have this problem. Also, going to give a +1 to a history feature, which probably has been requested/suggested before. Sometimes you just want to look up that thing you just looked up. :l And uhh, if you want a reach for the stars suggestion being able to send current entry to anki as a card would be glorious. Both from main screen search and when clicking around the "words that feature this kanji" green section. Yes, I'm sure it'd be annoying to implement, but you never said to be reasonable! =D Cheers and thanks for the fish.

Hey there!
  • If I use the second bar and type anything with a capital letter it refuses to do anything. Great, thanks for that. I'll fix that soon. Turns out it actually crashes the beta, so I've gotta fix that!
  • Search history is planned for the beta. It's probably the next thing I'll be working on after version 41 is released.
  • Anki integration is something I'd love to do in the future.
Thanks!

Akebi Feedback #374

multiple selection option would help creating lists imo.
(Received on 2016-01-07 17:52:36)
Hmm, do you mean multiple selection of words within lists, or when you're adding words to lists? Hopefully I can make both of them happen at some point in the future.

Akebi Feedback #373

I'm in love with this app, but I do have one suggestion - maybe it's just personal preference, but I wouldn't mind the kanji radical search results being organized by stroke order (4 stroke results, 5 stroke results, etc). I think it would make it a bit easier to search when I'm looking for a specific character and can guess the number of strokes.
(Received on 2016-01-06 12:43:25)
Hmm, good idea! I'll try to make it happen, thanks!

Akebi Feedback #372

Hello, ッ-radical and its derivatives like the one in 愛 are not shown properly in decomposition but represented by a gray empty circle. This error apparently occurs only on smaller screens(720p) since on Nexus7(2013) ッ is shown although also in a gray circle. I also noticed that this radical is not shown in 3-strokes section. Best regards

Hey, thanks for the bug report, I can see the trouble you're having and I'll look into it.

Akebi Feedback #371

Hey Akebi Team! I just started using this app and so far, it's been really great! Another feature I'd like to see is a "History" list. I like to add what I've searched into Anki to build up my vocabulary. Right now, I've just been adding words into my lists, but it's a bit of a hassle while I'm simultaneously trying to read a long article in Japanese. Thanks for your app and keep up the great work!

Hey there! I've got a history feature planned for the beta some time soon. Checkout the Change Log if you want to track how it's coming. Cheers!

Akebi Feedback #370

I can't see any translation for the kanji I captured
(Received on 2016-01-03 15:35:07)
Hey there! Some kanjis simply don't have translations I'm afraid. Are you certain that you've selected the correct kanji and not a similar looking Chinese character? Most Chinese characters don't have translations in Akebi.

Akebi Feedback #369

Could you please please add a list for just the Kanji radicals? I love your design and your definitions and this whole app sooo much but it's quite a struggle to find the Radicals between all the Kanji :D That would be so much help! Thank you for this awesome App and a happy new Year!
(Received on 2016-01-01 09:58:21)
Hi there! This is something that I'll have to look into. In the mean time, you can always compile a list of the radicals on your computer and then import them into Akebi. Perhaps that would be easier. Anyways, thanks for the feedback!

Akebi Feedback #368

I would really like if you put hiragana and katakana too. and the romaji for of kana

Hi there! I've had a few people request this, and it shouldn't take me long to do. I'll put it on the list and make it happen some time in the future. Thanks!
