Akebi Feedback #387

I am so glad to find & install this app! One of the common difficulties I experienced when studying Japanese is unable to pronounce some Kanji words as well as understand their meaning. Normally without hiragana reading/writing I am unable to use general app for Japanese dictionary to solve my problem. But this app which comes with handwriting function is very useful & I highly recommend this app as a great learning tool when studying Japanese! Thanks so much to the developer of this app!

Great app! But my flashcard progress isn't saving all the time. For example, I'll exit the app, reenter, and the words I just hid won't be hidden, and the words I just said I knew or didn't know show no record of those choices being entered, as if I never used the flashcards. Hope you can help!

That's exceedingly frustrating. If you wouldn't mind, could you try out the beta version? It would make it much easier for me to fix your problem. There's not much I can help with if Akebi just isn't doing what its supposed to. Really sorry about that!

Akebi Feedback #384

would be great to have some sentences examples for the kanjis (from tatoeba.org for example)
(Received on 2016-01-13 18:30:58)
All of the example sentences are already from Tatoeba.org. I guess that your looking for a way to search through them by kanji, in which case that's something I can do, time permitting. Thanks!

Akebi Feedback #383

The word "week" in kanji grid in jlpt 4 shows 11 strokes but only says it's correct if you make it with only with ten. Also the illustration is a bit vague.

Hi and thanks for the feedback! Issues with the number of strokes in the handwriting area have been resolved in the beta. If you could try that out, hopefully you won't have these issues. Thanks!

Akebi Feedback #382

I'm really enjoying Akebi! It's pretty awesome. The only things that bother me are that the handwriting recognizer is kind of spotty at times, and that the radical selection thing is hard to use. But those are both probably user errors. Thanks for making such a great app!

Hey there! Sorry that the handwriting recognition isn't up to scratch. As I'm sure you can imagine, writing a good algorithm for that is pretty darn difficult. Just make sure you've read the handwriting tutorial and that you're following its suggestions. As for the radical search, what is it that makes it difficult, exactly? Thanks!

Akebi Feedback #381

it doesn't save my progress in the list: i'm trying to learn kanji by doing focus 7 until 3 in a row But it doesn't save my success rate
(Received on 2016-01-11 10:49:45)
Uuurgh that's very unfortunate. If you could try out the beta version, hopefully that will repair the issue. As you can imagine, its pretty hard for me to tell you exactly what's wrong with Akebi just knowing what the problem is. Regardless, sorry about that!

Akebi Feedback #380

Hello, Thank you for creating this app. One thing I would like to recommend is getting rid of the type keyboard after I search something in the dictionary just to save an extra tap. Maybe this is a bug with my type of phone. I am using a Samsung Galaxy S4. Thanks
(Received on 2016-01-10 16:38:18)
Yeah, I really need to optimise when the keyboard pops up. Lots of people complain that it comes up far too often, and I totally agree. Thanks for the further feedback though, I really appreciate it.

Akebi Feedback #379

Hi, thank you for this great tool for learning japanese! However there are some weird looking Kanjis like rei from nenrei or quite a view others which I can collect if it is useful for you. Funnily in Stroke Order view all those kanjis are correct. Or do I simply use the wrong font?
(Received on 2016-01-10 09:13:48)
Hey there! Could just be the font on your phone. On my device, all three writings for NenRei show the same thing in the stroke order viewer as they do on screen. I should look at including a font with Akebi in future. Thanks for the feedback!

please write the romaji down so that we users may read. thank you.
(Received on 2016-01-10 02:47:51)
Lots of people have requested Romaji, so it's something I'll make happen when I get time. Thanks!
