Akebi Feedback #397

Hi! I am new to this app and I really like how it is combining dictionary, kanji recognition and kanji data (like strokes, radicals, etc) which are just perfect for my use. The only problem I have found so far is I cant find how to copy a sentence, a kanji or a word, so that i can paste it in another app, like web browser etc... Keep up the good work!

You should be able to copy a word by pressing the "Share" button near the cross. When you do that, a dialog will pop up. Under the share tab of this dialog, there should be an option to copy the word. Sorry about how confusing it is. I need to look at that. Copying Kanji should be under the "Share" option in the drop-down menu. As for example sentences, I don't think you can copy them just yet. Anyway, thanks for writing in!

The hand-writing recognition for 寒 is broken: it requires one less stroke than is needed. I.e. the correct suggestion appears before the last stroke is written and disappears when writing it. Unfortunately, this also forces you to learn an incorrect way of wiring the character for the kanji grid :p Thank you for akebi, it's absolutely amazing!

Hey there! Sorry about that. I've fixed this bug in the beta. If you could give that a shot, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!

Akebi Feedback #394

There's a small glitch with Akebi's kanji test. When I leave Akebi's in the middle of a quiz, when I come back Akebi will be stuck at a blank screen and I have to restart it. My phone is running Android 5.1.1

Uurgh, sorry about that. I think I know what the problem is, but unfortunately when I wrote the Kanji quiz I wasn't as experienced with Android as I am now. Should be able to fix it soon. Thanks!

Hey, same message as the last guy! You wouldn't happen to know him...? But don't worry, I'll look into it!

Akebi Feedback #392

Please add romaji to the word definition and sentence translation. I will recommend this app to my classmates, this is really helpful.

Romaji has been requested a lot. I only have furigana at the moment in the beta, I'll add it to the list of things to do. Thanks!

I absolutely lobe Akebi! It's such a handy, great App! Thank you for making it. It would be great if you could test youself directly with the Jouyou Kanji. Happy learning! Nagisa

Hey there! I'm not exactly sure what you mean by this though. You should be able to just press the "test" button in the action bar when you have the "Jouyou kanji" grid selected. Let me know if that doesn't work/do what you want. Thanks!

Akebi Feedback #390

Let me start by expressing my love for this app. I use it all the time. It has a lot of features that I feel the other apps are missing. I just wanted to report a slight "problem". While I was studying the kanji for 纔 (wazuka), I encountered the problem that the stroke decomposition is wider than the screen, and there is no way for me to scroll left-right to see the hidden parts. So kanji with too many components have this small problem. If you believe you can fix this, let me know. :) Thank you.

Thanks so much for the bug report! I've added it to the change-log for the next beta release!

Akebi Feedback #389

Thanks again for such useful app :) It is possible to add a link in the Heisig index of the kanji for http://kanji.koohii.com/study/kanji/[Heisig read the kanji index number]? This would link for a page full of mnemonics for remembering the selected kanji.

Oh jeez. I'm not really sure I want to directly link to any particular site without their permission. I also don't want Akebi to have any "online" features yet. But I'll think about some way I can make that work out, perhaps a way to add a link to kanji that can link to any website you like.
