Akebi Feedback #647

If I search for a word, then clear the search bar by hitting the "X" in the upper-right-hand corner, then search for another word, then try to clear the field with the "X" button once more, if I begin typing another word, the second cleared word reappears in front of what I am typing.

Hey there! I'm not sure what's causing this! Would you be able to give me any more details on it? For example, device, android version, etc.?

Search results would be more useful if they weren't so static in color but already signaled each entry's word type(s). Like a rainbow flag, maybe tilted by 66° for prettiness.

I don't understand what you mean exactly... Like the background of search results should, instead of being blue, be different colours, each colour indicating a different type of word (verb, adjective, noun, etc.)?

Looks like the search sometimes aborts after a romaji search. Eg, "mouse" searches for もうせ, but doesn't proceed to whatever Latinized languages enabled.

Whoops... My bad. Fixed now, thanks!!

Akebi Feedback #644

Hello there! I really like your Akebi application. I think it is a big help in memorizing Japanese vocabulary. I have already memorized a few words such as "紅茶" and "誰." I think something that would help add to that is maybe have an audio clip of people saying the words. Knowing proper pronunciation is very much necessary in learning an entire new language. I love this app already, and adding audio clips of words would make that grow alot. I have the app "Forvo," but sometimes it can be a little hard to switch back and forth between apps to hear the audio clips, so having audio clips on Akebi would be very convenient for me. Thank you for taking your time to read this. :)

Hey there! Yep, audio has been a big request. I'll really have to see how hard it is to add it in. Thanks!

When, having typed a word into the search field, I hit the "X" button to clear it and begin typing a new one, the previous word not uncommonly reappears in front of what I am typing, forcing me to manually delete it all using backspace.

There are no spaces between words of different languages in the list that appears when you search something. The speed is slower and I hope you can sort it out. I had a long delay once as I added a word to the list. There's a conjugation that doesn't seem to be right. "雑多ければ", for example. I don't think there's a need to know that a honorific form was (Guessed). It's only important to know when it couldn't guess. I wrote in a recent survey that the last version was nearly perfect. It was. I hope you can make this one a bliss too. Keep up the good work!

    Fixed, sorry about that!

Speed is very important to me! Would you be able to give me any more details as to when it performs more slowly as compared to the previous version?

The reason this is there is so people don't use it as a "guarantee" that it's the correct reading, as it could be wrong (Akebi just guesses based on whether kunyomi or onyomi reading is used for the kanji). At least for the beta, I want to keep it like this.

Anyways thanks so much for letting me know about the issues!

The English search feature does not find the appropriate words, or any words. The attempt comes up in the hiragana equivalent of the word, as though it's trying to search for Japanese instead.
(Received on 2017-06-27 03:15:26)

This will happen when the word you're searching for isn't there... Try searching for another word like "dog", and it should hopefully work. Let me know if it doesn't!

Missing space on deconjugation titles. Ie. missing before the "(…)", like with 受けやすい

Done, cheers!

When there's more than two languages fitting in the translations line in the search results, their words aren't separated. (Ie, no delimited where there should be eg. " | ".)
