Happy new year! Yay! Thanks so much to all the beta testers and donations! (02/01/2021)

Akebi Feedback #117

Thank you very much for this app. It is brilliant!!! In my opinion it would be great if the stroke order will be thicker and the colour should be changed to another bright colour instead of green, hence it will be much easy to remember. Other than that it is an awesome app. Also realy apreciate that you did not add any advertisement. I also suggest you to add link for donation if you need some funds. Thank you

You're very welcome!
I plan to adjust the stroke colour and thickness, it's been requested before. No idea why I decided thin light green was a good idea. I'm not a clever person.
Also, Sorry for the very late response, I've been really busy!

Kanji Grid is too slow to load. It could be more intuitive.
(Received on 2014-08-06 12:26:07)

Kanji grid has been a bit neglected by me. It's a feature I don't actually use much myself, so finding issues in it is difficult and I rely mostly on feedback. I'll try to give it a look soon.

Thanks for the feedback!

Nice app, can you make search Kanji through number of strokes? Like a list of Kanji from 1 stroke, 2 stroke etc. that will help us easier to find out the Kanji and the meaning. Thanks for your hard work!

Sounds like a useful feature, I'll give it some thought. Thanks for writing in!

Howdy,

Love the app, it is one of the first kanji writing apps that has gotten me to practice.

Could you include the option to turn off the English meaning in the practice section? I find it stops me from learning the onyomi and kunyomi readings. Better to learn 白 as しろ than "white", right?

Also, I seem to have hit a bug where options changes for practice are never saved when I exit the options screen.

Thanks for the great app,

A similar feature has been asked for before, I'll add this to the list too! I'll also have a look at that bug. Thanks!

Great app, but on my Galaxy Tab 2 running SlimKat, I cannot create a new list by pressing the plus button on a newly created list folder. none of the buttons seem to work on the list folder.

Android 4.4.4
3.0.101 SlimKat+ kernel

have a good one.

Well that's certainally odd. I'm afraid I don't have access to a Galaxy Tab 2, so thats going to be very difficult for me to fix... If you send me an email, I'll try to work something out (it's a bit difficult at the moment to fix bugs because I'm adding a giant feature at the moment and my code's a bit all over the place. But I'm sure I can try to work something out.)

please add more KANJI if thats even possible thank you i like the app so much i hope you dont mind me asking what does akebi stands for

Akebi is a Japanese Fruit! As for adding more kanji, you know you can do that yourself right? I'm not sure what other lists would be appropriate.

its nice super thank you so much the sentences are so out of this world but i hope you add more vocabulary i searched for the word 横に寝る but anyway its excellent
(Received on 2014-07-21 18:41:30)
Hmm... That looks like two words to me! 横 which means "Horizontal" and 寝る which means "To sleep". So I think it means "To sleep horizontally"!

Please start section that translation sentence. It would be a huge help. for example ano natsu de matteru: I know natsu is summer butthe other words not so much.
(Received on 2014-07-18 18:55:21)
Translating an entire sentence is very difficult! I think that means "I was waiting in that summer" or something similar. Try inputting "matte" into Akebi!

Is it possible for you to include an option to hide definitions? This would be very helpful for those of us who are trying to use Japanese only to study. Thanks!

That's an interesting request. I'll see what I can do!
