Akebi Feedback #667

Out of all the apps and features that I use, Akebi is one of just two that do not have dark theme available. Hardly a big issue, I know, but it would be nice. Oh, and backup and restore failed once again as I changed. "Error. Cannot find backup in the SD" (or similar message). There ARE three files there, but this app cannot seem to see them. This.is now running total.of 4/4 cases that I lose my lists (2 times with the old Akebi). However, I love this app and cannot imagine how to do without this anymore.

Hi there. Sorry to hear that. Have you lost any lists while using the new beta version? If so, can you please get back to me, I really want to make sure that never happens!

Could you please check to make sure that Akebi has the permissions to access storage (settings, apps, Akebi, permissions and enable storage)? If that let's akebi see the backups, please let me know! I should be able to make Akebi request storage permissions to view backups.

Thanks so much, and sorry about the hassle!!

Akebi Feedback #666

Hey there. No probably not, I'm so so sorry. Please check to see if a folder named "AkebiBackup" exists on the root of your device. If it does, copy out the files BEFORE importing them with Akebi (just in case you make a mistake). If your device is rooted, I may be able to get them back, just send me an email (see the contact section) or another feedback message.

To make sure this doesn't happen again, please upgrade to the beta version. Thanks!

It's awesome I can export my lists. Is there a way to import? I exported my list from my old phone but I can't find how to get that exported list into Akebi on my new phone.

Hey there. You use the same place to export as you do to import. There's an "import" button at the bottom of the dialog. Thanks!

Akebi Feedback #664

if List A is active, is there any way to add a word to List B, without going back to deactivate List A? I think it would really be useful to be about to have multiple active lists. thanks for a great app so far!!!

Sure, press the "Send to" icon (the arrow looking thing) next to the cross at the top of a word.

Your app is great. It's very helpful how there is an example sentence for a word I search up and how the sentence is broken down into its component parts and what they each mean

Thank you!

Akebi Feedback #662

Hi. It might be useful to add the ability for the search to be confined to e.g. only Katakana? like when you search a word that you read and you know it is a Katakana-word/a word sometimes written in Katakana, that might be useful. maybe input entered in all caps could be automatically Katakana, as well as adding 'filters' to the search maybe, to only display Katakana-results. Maybe only one of the two things I described would suffice, idk, I haven't thought about it enough yet.
(Received on 2017-09-14 13:43:39)

Hey there! I used to have that as the default behaviour (if you type in caps, you'll notice that you start typing katakana), but people found it annoying to switch between caps/non-caps when searching. Thanks!

Akebi Feedback #660

hi! Really like the app so far :) What do you think about adding "shorthand-notation" to romaji-> kana input? I forgot what it's called, but like motu -> motsu -> もつ (obviously). Or si -> shi. I've gotten into the habit of using it in my laptop, and it's quite handy actually! Also, how about a search-history-feature? Might be that that already exists and I just haven't found it yet, just began using Akebi :)

Hey there! I'll see what I can do about the shorthand, but for search history: please upgrade to the beta version.

Akebi Feedback #659

こんにちは! I just have one complaint that I'd like to talk about. The handwriting recognition is really bad with kanji that include 子 (like 学、子、…) That's the only radical or kanji I've noticed that is neigh impossible for it to count correct though!
(Received on 2017-09-02 04:38:08)

Sorry about that, it's fixed in the beta. Thanks!

Akebi Feedback #658

When accessing the Kanji grid and selecting a certain grade or JLPT level to practice, sometimes all my progress is reset and all kanji are set as unknown.
(Received on 2017-08-29 01:34:51)

Sorry about that. Please update to the beta version here. That should fix it!
