This app is awesome and I really love it, so please keep up the great work! Anyhow, would there be the chance, that the focus wouldn't be always on the text fields when changing activities? My keyboard is always opening itself and therefore I often have to close it manually before choosing options on the start activity or using the handwriting area, which are/is under the keyboard. Maybe an option in the settings would be nice to toggle between the two behaviors. Sorry if my English is not correct, it's not my native language... Thanks in advance and many greetings, Mia K.

Yeah, some people find this really annoying. It definitely needs to be looked at in more detail. I'll make sure to come back to this later. You're English is perfect by the way. Hopefully the next update (additional languages) will be of some use to you!

Hi there! Strange. At the moment, there's an issue searching for English words if it has a capital letter, so be sure to use all lower-case.

i love this app, it is helpful! One thing i would really love to see in the future is a section with negative/ない form for entries within the dictionary. it's probably one of the aspects i struggle with most although i can see why it would be hard to implement in a dictionary. As it stands this is one the most helpful apps I've used so far on my japanese language journey so thanks for all your hard work!

You're very welcome! I'll take the nai form idea into consideration. I should be able to make it happen with the conjugations section (when I get around to doing that).

on the description in the play store, it says there are no ads. however, i suddenly started seeing ads today and i'm not sure why! was there an update that added them or something?

Hi there! Akebi has absolutely no ads! If you're seeing ads, you're phone almost certainally has adware/malware on it!! You should really get onto fixing that before it does anything worse!

When using romanji input, writing words that don't exist, suggestion only shows hiragana. Also showing katakana would be nice.

This is definitely fixed in the new version coming out soon. In the meantime, you can type in UPPERCASE to create katakana. Thanks for the feedback though!

I'm a bit confused, I'm not sure what you mean! The app seems to be working (otherwise how would you be sending me feedback), yet you're having trouble with a download? If its with the data files, you can always download this and put it in /sdcard/AkebiOverride/.

Hi! I like Akebi, but some Kanjis are strange. For example modosu or oku funny enough, in stroke order the kanjis are correct...

Hi! in the handwriting search mode, katakana are hardly recognized. it would be Nice to improve this as katakana might Come along with kanji.

Yeah, I designed the handwriting recognition to work better with big kanji with many strokes. This is something I need to look at in the future. For now, best just to type katakana/hiragana in!

Hi! after searching for à character by handwriting, if i want to make à new search, i click on the +, the Google keyboard appears. but i don't need the keyboard since i'm in the handwriting page. would it be possible to avoid making appear the keyboard then?
