Akebi Feedback #507

OK, ignore the bug report that I sent you.... I tried again and it worked. (if you don't know who I am, I sent you about the bug that had an white screen after I came back to the app without turning it off.(w/o swiping it) :b)

Oh, that's great! LOL! Thanks for getting back to me!

Akebi Feedback #506

I haven't got the way of this app yet, but I can see it will be useful. Also, I would like you to know about a bug. When I got out the app, and it stays "still open", and then I go back, the screen stays white with only the "akebi" bar on it. I have to close the app(swipe it) and then turn it on again to work properly. I have an moto g 2. I hope you work on this bug. and good luck with the app!

Hmm... I had someone else complaining about this just before. I'm not sure why that's happening. If you wouldn't mind, please see if this problem still happens in the beta version. Thanks!

Akebi Feedback #505

Ok, it seems that I using the "Backup" button erased all of my data. Please fix that function. I want my data back :'(
(Received on 2016-04-19 06:20:07)
The backup button deleted all your data??? That's impossible!! I'm so sorry! Please check if there are any files in your device's "AkebiBackup" directory. Sorry!! If this happens in the beta version, please let me know.

Akebi Feedback #504

Dang. Lost all of my progress. Backup files are 0.02 KB in size. Is it because I signed up for the beta testing? I totally didn't mean that when I clicked on "I don't mind losing my data", I was just exploring the site. Or is it because I overloaded a list or trifled with the kanji knowledge numbers? I wonder if you happen to have my data stored somewhere, if it is part of the analytical data being sent to you. Akebi is amazing indeed, but losing data hurts. I'm fine and will keep using the app to my heart's content. Do you receive these messages I send via the app? I've never received any replies whatsoever.

Hi there! I'm really sorry I haven't replied to you for so long. I've been very stressed out with my studies lately, and I've had to put Akebi's feedback on hold for a bit. I'm also sorry to hear that your data was lost. I've been busy fixing this recently, so please checkout the beta version. There's a patch for this issue coming soon.

Akebi Feedback #503

hello It is a very good program and all it needs is prnounciation of words. thank you very much
(Received on 2016-04-18 12:02:39)
Yes, a few people want pronunciations. I've got more things to deal with first though, so stay tuned. Thanks!

Akebi Feedback #502

-Could you please implement a backup button for lists and kanji grid so I could reliably and regularly use it (nothing bad happened yet, but just in case) -The search doesn't de-conjugate some things, e. g. when I search for "示せ", I get no search results, while "示せて" is recognized as the て form of "示す" -The program often stops for me in Akebi - Examples, Akebi - Kanji Test and in some other categories. It can't restart after I use a couple of different apps as it's supposed to, so it freezes. Can you make it completely restart in all categories after using other apps for a while and returning to Akebi? -Here are kanjis I couldn't make Akebi recognize in the Kanji Grid tests (Grades 1-8 and JLPT) 丘錘猛帥騰訴虐携阻艇遇孔浜睡幣罰幻嚇傍抑漆芝網殴貴傷弊式締昆燦矩磯仰韻糾寒様 批劇補甘祈歳越香僅諦算 Tried to write them all as in their "Show Stroke Order" windows. 牙should be 4 strokes, I believe. Is it hard to fix? Or is it actually more correct to write it with 5 strokes? 比 - I'm used to writing the left radical in this kanji with two strokes, just like the one on the right, but Akebi doesn't recognize that. Same goes for many other kanji, like 陛混楷麓諧鹿麗麟 while it works otherwise for 階皆. Thanks very much.

Hi!
  • You can backup in the Options menu. You can also export lists to simple text files. Hope that helps!
  • Sorry about the de-conjugation not working for everything. I'm busy with some other areas of Akebi right now, maybe I can get onto that later
  • Not sure why it's freezing... If you return to it after a while it might reload its data files and freeze for a few seconds. If this happens with the beta version, please let me know.
  • Sorry about the recognition issues with those kanjis. It's fixed in the beta version. Thanks!
Thanks!

Akebi Feedback #501

Congratulations for this fantastic app. It is very useful and it have helped me a lot with my studies. Your app has a lot of very useful tools to help the user to find certain uncommon words and kanjis. I will make a suggestion to you, I have a galaxy note 3 so I'm able to use the multi window mode with several apps but I can't use akebi in this mode; so it would be wonderful if you could add this feature to akebi in order to be able to use akebi and a pdf reader, or an app like that, together in split screen. I don't know if this is possible but I wanted to let you know about this idea. Sorry if I my English is difficult to understand but my native language is Spanish, and thanks again for this wonderful app.

Hi there! Unfortunately, I don't have a galaxy note tablet, so it's really hard for me to test this. If you wouldn't mind, please try out the beta version and see if it works. Thanks!

Akebi Feedback #499

Best dictionary available, I use it daily. I wanted to ask about the "Common noun" and "High usage" tags. First, what's the difference between them? Second, do they apply only to the translation next to which they appear, meaning that this is what the speaker usually means when he says that Japanese word? (If not then why do they sometimes appear at the first translation and sometimes at the last?) Also, when in a middle of a search and the phone auto-roatates, the search is cancelled. Please allow the user to manage the words of a list better (so in case you're reading a book you could put a word you've missed chronologically) and please allow kanji in the lists of words, no need to separate them. Don't let the length fool you, these minor obstacles do not interfere with the great experience your excellent app is giving me ;)
(Received on 2016-04-13 21:51:50)
Hi there!
  • A "common noun" means a word like "dog", as opposed to a proper noun like "Paris". "High usage" means that the word has been marked in some lists as being used frequently in books, newspapers etc.
  • The truth is that I'm not 100% certain. Some of the tags apply to the whole word, some of them only apply to that translation. It's quite a bit clearer in the beta version.
  • Sorry about the screen rotation issues, I'm on it.
  • Yes, it would be good if I could upgrade the list editing features. We'll see.
Thanks!

Akebi Feedback #498

can you update the word database? it's still difficult to search right words which have no equal in English... and otherwise it's kinda selfish but... thank you

Hi there! I'm working on this right now. Please checkout the beta version.
