yo developer! i will start using this instead of takoboto. lets see. but first impression, i like the flashcards. the kanji thingy should include stroke orders. :)

The kanji's do have stroke orders! Just press the "..." button, and then press "Show stroke order". But thanks for using my app!! Sorry for the super super late reply.

It's perfect! If you did this app alone, congratulations! I'm currently in a Japanese course and I've improved a lot thanks to the app. The best function would be the sentece examples with the words, and the one I don't really use is autocomplete. That's it! I just wanted to give my support. Thank you again!

Thank you so much! Glad its helped you out! Sorry about my insanely late reply.

I think a feature where English words that can be translated into its Japanese word, complete with kanji and hiragana, would be a helpful feature. It would enable the user to help learn more words, especially if they have limited Japanese vocabulary.
(Received on 2016-05-26 02:21:10)
Hey there! This should already work... Have you tried just typing the English word you'd like to translate?

Ohayou! I hope you're still committed in developing Akebi, a great app btw. However it lacks something that I think it's essential in the options nenu such as changing font size, kanji stroke size, theme etc. Plus the font size in beta one are a bit squished than the old stable one, This makes reading example sentences more difficult to a small-screen-phone user like me. You might consider to add this (esp. font size) in the next beta update? Anyway, good luck in your studies, and keep up the good work!

I just released the version with font size adjustments! Thanks for the tip, and for using the beta!

Its very helpful and easy to use actually and I can see that your working really hard to improve it also your very attentive to your users based on the fact that you added a feedback on the app so over all, I think that even though it may lack something to others it will lack nothing in the future due to your willingness to improve it

Thanks! Although I'm so sorry to get back to you 6 months later. I've been very busy with Uni. But Akebi is still going well!

Akebi Feedback #540

Just got this app and its looking pretty good. Am trying the Beta with the German version for me. :) However as I am still a Japanese beginner, it would be great if you could add also the audio clip that one can listen to on the website as there are many different ways sometimes to pronounce the same hiragana syllables. Maybe as an online only feature to not eat up to much phone space. Also is there a way, when I search, to put the Kana up top, so I don't have to scroll through the auto complete always before getting to what I searched for? Keep up the great work :D

Hey there! Thanks for using the beta! Sorry about the search results being a mess at the moment. Don't worry, I know what you mean, it annoys me too. I'll fix it soon, thanks!

why does the kanji 直 ( like in 直面) look like that? If I click on stroke order, it has more traces, it looks very different.
(Received on 2016-05-24 23:40:11)
Sorry about that. This is called Han Unification. It's fixed in the beta version.

I've got to say thank you for creating this app it's been incredibly helpful in my quest to learn Japanese. The one addition I would like to see is the ability to add furigana in the example sentences and in the flashcard quizzes.
(Received on 2016-05-24 16:26:37)
Oooh, Furigana in the flashcards. Cool idea! I'll make it happen, thanks! Otherwise, Furigana in the example sentences is done in the beta version.
