Akebi Feedback #627

It would be great if it was possible to turn off seeing radicals in the kanji grid mode; I often "cheat" unintentionally by glancing at the radicals list.

Sure! Just press the "Show more info" button in the drop down menu on the kanji and then from there, un-pin the radicals view!

The Stroke Order animation of 卍 seems to have the long vertical stroke "striped". I guess this can be an issue with other characters with long vertical lines...

I don't see it on my device, but I'll look into it. Nice catch, cheers.

Hi there, can you make the example parser more greedy? The sentence for 鬱, ベタベタするんじゃねえよっ!鬱陶しい! tries to make something out of 鬱 and しい, ignoring the second kanji, notwithstanding that 鬱陶しい already is in the dictionary. Thanks!

Hey there! Starting from the beta version, I'm using MeCab to parse the example sentences rather than my own custom algorithm. It has a tendency to do stuff like this. Seems like the custom thing might have worked better after all... It's one of the things I must fix before I release the beta. Thanks again!

Spaces aren't trimmed after the removal of the terms in parentheses.

Yep, I'm aware of this, its been bothering me for ages. Thanks for reminding me!

A black background would be lovely, as many people own devices with AMOLED screens, allowing them to save battery life.

Hmmm, neat idea. I've been writing the beta version to allow me to theme it quickly if required. So its something I can do in the future. Thanks.

When selecting a suggestion form the dictionary and the definitions and examples and kanji window pops up, it would be nice to have the the top with the suggestion, the arrow and the X pinned and non-scrollable. This way this window can always be immediately closed without having to scroll up. Thank you!

Hey there! Cool idea, I'll see what I can do about that.

i found out that there are dictionary apps with anki integration. akebi would be perfect if it had just that. i personally found your internal flashcard list is hard to use, so if you allowed export or auto updating to anki, then you can offload the effectiveness of flashcards to an app that is more commonly used and does it more effecrively. :)

Yep, I've had a lot of requests for that. I'll make it happen soon. Cheers for letting me know!

Hi ap is great but have u thought about switching between words by sweeping while you clicked on them to see more information.

Hey, that's a cool idea! I didn't think about that. We'll see if it works I guess.
